Father’s Day Around the World
The origin of Father’s Day is uncertain, but what’s for sure is that it is celebrated in a great number of places around the world. In the United States, fathers are celebrated on the third Sunday in June (as it is in the Netherlands, France, and Argentina), and it is customary for children to give gifts and perhaps have a special meal as a family. Father’s Day in South Korea

The multitude of different accents, verb forms, word interpretations, and distinct colloquialisms make the language somewhat tricky to navigate, yet they are also what make it such a uniquely vibrant and dynamic language.
What is funny about Spanish is that unlike many other languages, there is technically a clear right and wrong when it comes to vocabulary and grammar. The language is in a sense maintained and revised every year by the Royal Spanish Academy, which is located in Madrid, Spain. In Korean language there is no appropriate way to address someone older than yourself as ‘you’. ‘You’ in Korean language is either ‘nu’ (rhymes with ‘the’) or ‘ja-ne’, both of which are informal and are only to be used among peers. There is also the more formal ‘dangshin’, which is more often than not used by mature married couples. Neither of them should ever be used with a stranger as it would be insulting or just plain strange. Thus, speaking to people can prove to be a challenge, as one must always use the third person when addressing them. This is fine as long as you know their name or their title (teacher, manager, CEO), or if it is appropriate to address them as Sir or Ms. and the like.
