Video Translation for Company Trainings

Boston, MA – Language Connections, one of the best language service companies in the US, has offered video translation to our clients for the last three decades.  Most recently, Language Connections did an eLearning translation for a janitorial company, providing education translation services for a training video for their Spanish-speaking staff.

Language Connections had three major concerns when completing these eLearning translation services: ensuring the script was modified for oral purposes, determining how best to pronounce acronyms, and synchronizing the audio and the textual/visual elements. Firstly, Language Connections’ team needed to adapt the text that was on the slides for this training, so it would sound better orally.  For instance, each slide was marked with numbers. These numbers were omitted from the script that would be translated and recorded because, of course, nobody would need to hear these numbers read out loud.

The second concern occurred in the hands of the professional translator.  There were a few acronyms that would need to be pronounced orally when we provided video translation in Spanish.  Language Connections worked with the client to decided that all these acronyms would be pronounced with an American English accent, not a Spanish one.  This was mainly because the employees of this company would encounter the acronym during their jobs as pronounced by English speakers.  Thus, they needed to know what it would sound like with an English accent.  Language Connections had to make sure the translator abided by this rule with every pronunciation of every acronym.

The last major concern in providing video translation for this project was to match up the recorded eLearning translation and the slides and text of the course.  Our duty as a translation services company required us to perfectly match the recorded Spanish translation with each slide, so images and text were shown at the right times during the recording.

Thanks to our video translation, this janitorial company was able to better train their employees.  This training isn’t just important to the company’s bottom line.  It’s also imperative for employees, who need to be prepped on the safest way to complete their jobs every day.  Good video translation services can affect many people in very important ways.
