Mandarin Chinese Interpreting at Medical School
Boston, MA – October 2016 – Language Connections, a Boston-based interpretation and translation services company, frequently works with local academic and healthcare centers. During a recent two-week international program at a major univesity’s medical school, we provided Mandarin Chinese interpreting services. The event was part of the Global and Continuing Education Program for healthcare executives known as the university’s Medical School Quality Leadership Program (QUAL).
The QUAL program is focused on providing international healthcare leaders with greater insight into patient safety and quality healthcare. It teaches best practices and provides exposure to medical practices at prominent Boston hospitals affiliated with the university’s medical school, including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Language Connections facilitated for Mandarin Chinese speakers attending the lectures and site visits throughout the QUAL program. Our senior interpreting project manager selected from our team of Mandarin Chinese simultaneous interpreters with a strong background in the medical field to provide expert simultaneous interpreting services. Among the challenges associated with this project was the limited timeframe within which we were asked to deliver our services. We successfully completed the project within the requested time and the client was once again pleased with our interpreters.
