Spanish Interpreters for STEM Educator Training Workshop
Boston, MA – Language Connections is a regular provider of academic interpretation and translation services in Boston. One of our clients, a prominent higher education institution, recently held a STEM educators training workshop for which they requested our help sourcing Spanish interpreters.
The client is a multi-discipline university with several unique departments, including a center focused on the specialization of community engineering education programs. The center offers those in STEM education the opportunity to strengthen their skills and expand their curriculum through LEGO Education training workshops. One of the recent workshops held at the university required Spanish simultaneous interpreting services.
Spanish Interpreters for Educational Training
The focus of the workshop was to provide a hands-on teaching approach for participants through activities involving the use of a LEGO toolkit. The workshop consisted several demonstrations, sessions, and discussions on how to motivate engineering learning using LEGO Education methods as a medium.
A group of Colombian teachers was attending the various lessons, and as such required interpretation services to participate.
We provided a team of simultaneous Spanish interpreters, as well as portable interpreting equipment for participants in the workshop. Our team of Spanish interpreters was selected based on their individual backgrounds in STEM terminology, the field of education, and of course their simultaneous interpreting skills.
As the teachers were Colombian, Latin American Spanish interpretation was requested. Latin American Spanish has various linguistic nuances separating it from European Spanish, so putting together a team of fluent speakers was extremely important. Our team of native Latin American Spanish speakers ensured that there was no hindrance to understanding or participation in the workshops.
