March 2017- Boston, MA – Language Connections, a Boston interpreting agency, recently partnered with a local Ivy League University’s museum of African Art to provide Spanish interpretation services for a TV interview featuring the Cuban artist, Juan Roberto Diago. The interview, which was conducted in both English and Spanish, involved a discussion between Jared Bowen of “Open Studio” and Juan Roberto Diago talking about his work currently on exhibit in “Diago: The Pasts of This Afro-Cuban Present.”
Diago is a prominent contemporary Cuban artist and a leader in the new Afro-Cuban cultural movement denouncing racism and discrimination in Cuban society.
Providing Spanish Interpretation Services
Language Connections provided consecutive interpreting during the television interview between Jared Bowen, producer and host of WGBH-TV “Open Studio,” and Cuban artist Juan Roberto Diago. This was a private interview taped for later broadcast on television. The interpreter was seated off-camera and provided English into Spanish interpreting (and vice versa).
