Professional Translating for Fun

Boston, Mass. – Language Connections, a translation company with nearly 3 decades of experience, recently aided one of the United States’ premier aquariums in bringing fun activities to visitors of multiple nationalities through our professional translating.  This translation project had two major sticking points.

Professional Translating for Multiple Languages

For this project, Language Connections used professional translating skills for three different sets of informational bingo sheets. These bingo sheets were translated from their original English to French, Spanish, and Chinese. The three translations required us to coordinate with three different professional translator services to ensure that each translation was handled with the utmost accuracy. The bingo sheets were distributed to the aquarium visitors (more than 1.3 million a year!)  With such a large audience for this translation, finding native speakers of French, Spanish, and Chinese who could deliver the project on time and perfectly was our goal.

In addition to coordinating amongst three different translators, there was another challenge to the project: formatting issues.  Because the bingo sheets came along with an abundance of graphics and visuals, we did more than just translate company documents in this case.  Language Connections employed desktop publishing services in order to reformat the documents with the newly translated text and to guarantee that throughout the translation process the general formatting and graphics would stay the same.
