Online Interpreting Services for Technical Webinars

For this latest project, a prominent pharmaceutical company asked us to provide online interpreting for a series of 8 webinars conducted for medical professionals. These webinars, on average, lasted 2 – 4 hours and required interpreters for four languages: Japanese, Spanish, French, and Chinese. Given the number of languages involved in addition to the technical nature of the webinars’ subject matter, Language Connections made sure to hire experienced interpreters with a strong understanding of medical terminology. Thanks to our global network of interpreters, this was easy to accomplish and all of the company’s webinars ran smoothly.

 

Online Interpreting Services with Solutions

Language Connections also demonstrated its commitment to providing tailored remote simultaneous interpretation solutions for its clients during the course of this latest project. According to Leo Galperin, President of Language Connections, “relay interpreting could have been used for the webinars. However, in the end, we decided to provide simultaneous Zoom interpretation thanks to Zoom’s reliability as a platform.” This solution proved to be highly effective. For each webinar, two interpreters were used for each language involved in the webinar, allowing interpreters to switch off every 15 minutes, a process that ensured video remote interpreting accuracy.

 

The fact that L.C.’s interpreters were trained to work in Zoom also allowed the event to run without interruptions. For instance, during the question and answer period of each webinar, questions were repeated by the webinar host in order to make sure that the interpreters were able to accurately interpret for all participants and allow for a dialogue. Without interpreters trained in Zoom, mistakes can be easily made. Given the fact we train all interpreters in Zoom’s functionalities, this was never a problem.
