Boston, MA November 2017 – Language Connections, a professional translation and interpretation services agency, is a provider of full linguistic services for many international academic events. We often provide translation services during conferences and executive education courses held by major universities in the Boston area.In a recent project we provided English to Simplified Chinese translation services for the 2017 Boeing China Executive Development Program.

This is a one week program designed to bring together executives from the Chinese National Development Reform Commission (NDRC) with leaders in the aviation industry from Boeing. The agenda is focused on a discussion of issues related to security and safety in public aviation.

In past years we have provided translation of presentation slides, faculty bios, program schedules, and student feedback forms for the Boeing program. This year we translated the lecture materials from English into Mandarin Chinese.

English to Simplified Chinese Translation Services

Our role for the Boeing Program was to translate PowerPoint slide presentations into Simplified Chinese characters. These presentations would be used by Mandarin Chinese speakers attending the program. We selected a team of highly skilled Chinese translators with a strong background in the technical and legal aspects presented in the program.

Following the translation of the lecture presentations, the text itself was then formatted via Desktop Publishing Services. The Chinese presentations had to correlate with the English ones, and the text needed to line up with non-editable image tables, graphs and diagrams throughout the PowerPoint. Our in-house project managers are trained in Desktop Publishing, and successfully formatted the Chinese presentations to correlate with the English.
