Conference Interpreting in Mandarin

One of our clients, an ivy league university that we frequently provide interpreting services to, requested simultaneous interpreting services for a recent conference with a Chinese think tank that they hosted.

Handling Multiple Needs in Conference Interpreting

Language Connections provided conference interpreting services for a conference about sharing and discussing political research in China. The client requested two expert Mandarin interpreters.  Besides being native speakers of Mandarin, these interpreters also needed to be well-versed in Chinese politics and political science.  One of the interpreters Language Connections hired even had a Ph.D. in political science. Lastly, beyond having a background in this deeply academic subject matter, the interpreters also needed excellent physical and mental stamina.  They provided interpretation at Q&A sessions, on-stage panel discussions, and at meal and coffee breaks.  They handed this intense workload for four whole days.

Results

Through providing interpreting services, Language Connections helped facilitate some important discussions about China’s political situation and future.
