One of our regular clients, UCLG (United Cities and Local Governments), requests our simultaneous interpreting services for an annual event held at the United Nations in parallel with the Global Summit. The meeting is composed of representatives from all around the world.
What Is UCLG?
UCLG, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, advocates for the interests of local government around the world and promotes its visibility and position in the role of international politics. One of their annual events is a meeting on the New Urban Agenda and UN-Habitat.
Organized by the Global Taskforce of Local & Regional Governments, this year’s meeting took place last month in NYC. Attendees included high-level representatives from across major continents including Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. Talks covered a range of critical issues, from how the local governments’ constituency relates to the UN system, to the UN’s role in urbanization and working with global partnerships.
French and Spanish Conference Interpreting
Due to the high-profile nature of the meeting, we built teams of our most experienced on site interpreters trained in simultaneous interpretation. We provided two Spanish interpreters for government representatives from Spain, as well as two French interpreters to facilitate during talks and discussions for native French-speaking audience members.
