Brazilian Portuguese Interpreting for Annual Brazil Conference

In a recent project, we provided Brazilian Portuguese conference interpreting services during the annual Brazil Conference held jointly by the Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan School of Management.

What is the Brazil Conference?

The conference, organized by Brazilian students from both universities, hosted guest speakers from across a number of different sectors of Brazilian society, representing the country’s five regions. It included political leaders, researchers, entrepreneurs, social activists, and artists and covered a variety of topics from political crisis to public health.This year’s Brazil Conference focused on promoting a diverse forum for discussion in an effort to identify solutions for issues affecting the future of Brazil.

Brazilian Portuguese Conference Interpreting

Language Connections provided a team of Brazilian Portuguese simultaneous interpreters to facilitate during the keynote speech. The speaker was former Brazilian President, Dilma Rousseff, who offered her perspective on how to address key issues in Brazil’s current landscape.

Former President Rousseff, a Brazilian economist, politician, and the 36th President of Brazil from 2011- 2016, was the first women president of Brazil. Following her speech, she participated in an interview by a professor regarding her views on how to overcome major challenges in Brazil.

Our Portuguese interpreters were able to ensure that the language barrier did not interfere with communication for either her speech, or the following interview.
