Brigham & Women’s Hospital Meets with Roxbury Tenants Harvard Association
The Roxbury Tenants of Harvard Association (RTH) is a non-profit housing and human service organization established by residents of Mission Hill in Boston to ensure community participation in decision-making and improve the socio-economic condition of the community. This often requires language services, primarily in the form of interpreting, at community meetings which are a regular occurrence. We at Language Connections have a lasting partnership with the RTH, providing interpreting services at community meetings over the last few years.
This month on November 19th, the RTH is invited to participate in a meeting hosted by Brigham and Women’s Hospital in order to give residents a chance to discuss issues regarding the proposed expansion of hospital facilities in and around their neighborhood. The hospital would like to take this opportunity to facilitate a discussion regarding any concerns that residents may have such as potential safety issues as a result of the expansion. Our role at the meeting is to facilitate communication for Cantonese, Russian, and Spanish speaking residents who are not adequately proficient in English.
