Spanish & Portuguese Biotechnology Translation for Amgen

Biosimilars, or generic biologics, are distinct from conventional medications in that special care must be taken to ensure that they are safe and effective (due to the fact that biologics are manufactured in a living system). Biosimilar production is by nature even more challenging as it is not only sensitive to changes in the manufacturing process, but also may result in variation from the innovator biologic product. Thus, formulation documentation must ensure that the biosimilar has bioequivalent properties. Therefore, it is essential that the biotechnology translation be absolutely accurate.
Biotechnology Translation Services
Our role in this project involved providing a Spanish and Portuguese translation detailing the formulation of the medicinal investigational product involved in clinical studies. Since the target audiences were patient populations in Mexico and Brazil, the translations needed to be culturally adapted into Mexican Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. respectively. Moreover, the documents were highly technical as the therapeutic being tested was a biosimilar product. This demands high expertise in translation as well as a strong background in the field of biologics manufacturing in order to ensure that all industry specific terminology is appropriately translated with approved terms,
