Language Connections is a full service Language Service Provider focused on providing certified professional translation, localization and interpreting services to clients across the US and worldwide. Language Connections has enjoyed steady growth over the years and is continuing to expand its operations.

The Role:

As an Interpreting Coordinator/Project Manager you will serve as the main contact person between major clients and multilingual vendors. You are responsible for managing complex projects as well as specific production teams and details, including:

  • Clients
  • External vendors
  • Managing workflows and processes

You are also accountable for the final quality assurance of interpretation, translation, and real-time, accurate recording of financial information and activities.

Main activities may include:

  • Managing major client accounts: initial planning, estimating services, planning out interpreting conferences, hiring interpreters, equipment vendors, negotiating with all parties, invoicing. When required: organizing production-related client meetings, coordinating process review on main accounts.
  • Assembling teams of freelance interpreters and translators for each project and managing in-house resources and external vendors efficiently and cost effectively. Select and assign interpreting teams, negotiate rates and deadlines, and coordinate production with all parties involved, including interpreters, translators.
  • Creating and developing interpreting tools used for these accounts (schedules, attendance structure, and developing efficient workflows for maximizing the use of resources)
  • Supporting other team members in the preparation of projects, translations, estimates, analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all financial information (project scope, revenue, cost, payment status, change of order, vendors' invoices, etc.).
  • Exercising sound judgment in keeping involved parties informed at all times. Keeping clients updated regarding potential difficulties and/or issues affecting cost and turn-around time.

Requirements:

  • BA and/or BS degree is expected; a degree in Business, Marketing, Translation and/or Interpretation or equivalent experience could be advantageous.
  • Superb written and spoken English. Fluency in other languages is a major advantage, but not required.
  • Proficiency with computers and most common software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, html, xml).
  • Proven multi-tasking skills—the ability to prioritize while handling multiple projects simultaneously in an unstructured environment, while dealing with time-sensitive materials and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate accurately detailed instructions to multilingual vendors.
  • A detail-oriented and service-oriented personality is mandatory, as well as a strong sense of accountability.
