Case Study: Virtual Web forum

Announcement ImageOne of our project managers recently worked on a project translating a web forum for a non-profit international health organization. The discussion forum was focused on helping family planning centers in at least twenty countries meet their goals and work within their budgets.

(...cont'd from newsletter) Participants came primarily from Spanish-speaking Latin America and Francophone Africa, with some native and non-native English speakers from a variety of countries. The translations had to be conducted as quickly as possible such that responses could be translated in “real time”. Coordinating postings between continents in different time zones and in six language combinations was challenging. However, by creating a team of our experienced translators, our Language Connections project manager was able to successfully translate the web forum discussions within the necessary timeframe. The forum was well attended, and despite time constraints, the translations were performed successfully. Both the client and the participants were pleased with the results.
