MEDICAL INTERPRETER TRAINING PROGRAM in Bostondeveloped by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundationand administered by Language Connections LLC.(Lead Trainer: Inna Persits, M.S., M.Ed.)
Fundamentals of Medical Interpretation is a 60-hour training course that was developed to enable participants to become competent medical interpreters. The course introduces participants to interpreter roles and skills, interpreter ethics, and medical terminology in both English and the target language.
Anatomy and physiology is taught by an experienced instructor who is a clinician. Language coaching and role-plays in the target language are offered by experienced interpreters who are native speakers of the target language.
We are accepting applications for our 60 hour 7-week WINTER 2013 Medical Interpreter Training Session, that begins on January 9, 2013 and ends on February 23, 2013. Deadline for Registration: December 22nd, 2012. Since space in the training program is limited and is filling up quickly, we recommend early registration. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the course is full.
Schedule: The course meets twice a week: Wednesdays (6.30 pm – 9.30 pm) and Saturdays (9.30 am – 4.00 pm).
